Water heating is a thermodynamic process that uses an energy source to heat water above its temperature. Typical domestic uses of hot water are for cooking, cleaning, bathing, and space heating. In industry, both hot water and water heated to steam have many uses. There are different ways to get hot water but one of the most common ways is using enameled (glass-lined) water heaters.
The heating source (boiler, collector, heat pump etc.) sends heated water (70-90c) to the enameled water heater and this water goes through the coil/coils (serpentine) inside the water heater then goes back to the source. The primary source's water gives its heat to the water in the tank which will be used for consumption. The insulation of water heater gives advantage to keep the heated water in the tank hot and ready for usage at any time. The heating source type, the hot water capacity of heating source, coil usage areas, insulation thickness and density and enamel quality for long life are important details of a water heater and system.
